I love your quote by Robert Brault. I grew up during the time when "children were seen, not heard." It is so refershing to see and hear that things have changed to the point where children do indeed have a voice.

Ellen, I like the Brault comment you posted! It seems that in this fast moving world, many teachers and parents can get wrapped in the tasks of everyday life and miss out on valuable opportunities to sit down and really listen to what children have to say. These fascinating minds have so much to share. Some of the most memorable experiences I have with the kids in my class are those in which we were just sitting on the rug talking!
